           REVIEW OF ENGLISH VINGLISH
        After almost 15 years,the diva of bollywood,Shri Devi,is back with her film English Vinglish which hit the cinemas this friday.English Vinglish is an female oriented film,directed by debutant Gauri Shinde,the wife of well known film maker R.Balki.This film is already selected for toronto film festival.English  Vinglish is a fight between Shashi vs Angrezi.After watching this film,one thing is clear that Barfi and Boondi wale laddu made this year very sweet for the audience and industry also.
                                 SCRIPT
      Debutant Gauri Shinde has penned story,screenplay and dialogues for the film.The story of the film is quite interesting for classes and can be boaring for masses.Story of the film turns arround,Shashi,who is a house wife and running a cattering business (specialist in laddoos) from her home.When it comes to her engish skills,her english is much better than your reviewer but less better than her husband and children.Kudos for Gauri Shinde who written a masterpiece with lots of emotions.Actually she has not written a story,she has written a poem with very emotional message.Gauri Shinde`s unique screenplay has given an different feel to the film.But in first half,there are some ups and downs in the screenplay.But second half has some twist and turns and make film very interesting.Gauri has penned beautifull lines with emotional puch lines.In a scene,when shashi asked a question to her english trainer "WHY INDIA IS ONLY INDIA AND WHY AMERICA IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" has given a short message to the people.Overall,Gauri Shindey`s script is well written.
                             STAR PERFORMANCES
     Shri Devi is extraodinary in the role of shashi whose english is less sweet than her "boondi wale ladoo`s".English Vinglish is best come back for Shri Devi.Actually she is the hero of the film.Mehdi Nebbou (french actor) did an extraodinary job in the role of the classmate of Shashi who likes her also.Priya Anand is lovely as Shashi`s supportive niece.It can be big shock for you to watch Adil Hussain as Shashi`s husband.Corry Hibbs shines as Shashi`s english teacher.Amitabh Bachchan`s special appearance is well used by Gauri Shinde.All the performers are suitable for the film.
                              DIRECTION AND MUSIC
     Amit Trivedi`s  music is really good,especially in Navrai Majhi (when Shashi introduces her classmates) and title song is amazing.Gauri Shindey makes a fabulous debut as an director.Her style of narration is extraodinary.Finally,she proved that she is not the wife of sucessfull director,R.Balki is husband of a talented director.
                                  MY WORD
    Don`t watch english vinglish for comeback and special appearances,watch english vinglish for a woman who steps out of her family`s shadow and learn love for herself.
                                BOX OFFICE PERDICTION
     English Vinglish has collected 13 crore rupees in its first weekend which is huge collections for an women oriented film after Kahaani and The dirty picture.Word of mouth of english vinglish is very strong,so it will collect huge collections for producer`s pocket in weekdays also.
